Like many guilds, Virakar uses a VoIP program to enhance our gaming experiance. The program that we use is Ventrilo v2.3.0. This version can be downloaded here.

Server address: virakar.ventrilo.org
Port: default port (3815)

Basic Instructions:
1. Press the arrow tab next to "User Name". This will bring up the "Setup User" window, select the "New" button.
2. Type in the name you wish to use in the field provided, press "Ok"
3. Cancel out of the "Setup User" window.
4. Next, click the arrow tab next to "Server", which brings up the "Connection Editor" window.
5. Click "New" and fill in the server name, "Ok" once completed.
6. Then fill in the information provided above.
7. You are then ready to go! Press the connect button located to the right.

It's advised that you set the "Press to talk key" so that everyone doesn't hear everything you have to say, such as yelling at the dog. Here's how to set this up:
1. Click the "Setup" tab on the right, this is the fourth tab down.
2. Within the first window opened, titled "Voice", you will find "Use Push-to-talk Hotkey" in the second checkbox on the left hand side. Check this box.
3. Further down on the left hand side is the "Hotkey" field, just click the field and press the hotkey you wish to use.
4. Press "Ok" at the bottom and you will be good to go!

Procedure for Vent Normalization so everyone's voice is the same volume.

- Threshold = Around -30
- Ratio = 100
- Pre delay = 4.0
- Click ok and your good to go.

If you have any problems with Ventrilo feel free to post on our message boards.
