Guild Leader:

The guild leader is the leader of the council of elders. It is his priority to make sure that all aspects of the guild are being managed correctly. The guild leader may make executive decisions which are of the highest authority, but is encouraged to do so only when necessary. The role of the guild leader is to be a guiding force and a check to all other aspects of the guild, not a dictator.

Elders:

Elders are the members of the guild who handle the general administrative tasks. The council of elders make changes that affect the guild as a whole, rather than a single branch. The council of elders is primarily responsible for determining the direction of the guild at large. They are the first body that has to approve new branches and new core members. The elders have the authority to appoint branch leaders. The elders have the authority to cast a vote of no confidence on the guild leader, as well as appoint a new guild leader from the council of elders. New elders are appointed by 100% approval of a new elder.

Elders are held to the highest standards. They are to obey the wishes of the IC and branch leader of the branch they play with at all times. They are to treat every member with respect, and do whatever they can to ensure the long term success of whatever branch they play within, as well as the guild as a whole. Elders are expected to show initiative and keep up with the activities of the guild, as well as contribute whatever is necessary to the administrative tasks of the guild.

Branch Leader:

The role of the branch leader is to be the one coordinating all IC. He is the person who will make the final call for any branch decisions should he feel it necessary to do so. The branch leader has the authority to promote and demote IC at his discretion. The branch leader may choose to create any positions or responsibilities that he feel are necessary to the branch.

The branch leader is the one running the show for the branch. The branch leader has to respect elder council decisions and GL decisions. Individual elders playing in a branch are to respect the will of the branch leader. If an elder has an issue with a branch leader it is to be handled on the elder forums and a council decision will be made.

Inner Council:

The role of the IC is to deal with the responsibilities that are involved in managing the branch. They are to deal with issues that arise both in game and out of game that involve the branch. IC have the authority to remove members in emergencies, but otherwise all member removals are to be done by consensus on the inner council. It is suggested to each branch that each IC is to be given a specific responsibility. It will be their job to make sure all things are being taken care of in that area. All IC are to pitch in as necessary and at the request of their fellow IC. Those IC with a responsibility are still subject to the will of a council as a whole in said responsibility.

Core Members:

Core members are members who have proven themselves to be VA for life. In any game they play they will always play with Virakar if possible. It is the responsibility of the core to bring up issues of importance. The core as a body will then discuss and decide upon the issue unless the elders view it necessary to make a council decision. The core body will approve both nominations for new core members and new branches.

Core members are held to a higher standard than that of normal members. They are expected to give whatever help is necessary for the good of the guild. Core status is something not to take lightly, and violations of trust will be dealt with harshly.

Members:

Members are full, card-carrying members within Virakar in a specific branch, tagged to the guild and given full message board access. Members can hold branch officer positions, may use the Virakar name on public boards and depending on branch protocols, may be able to sponsor new recruits. Full members of a branch are expected to know the protocols of Virakar and represent the guild through their actions. Remember, as a full member, you will be judged as an appendage of the guild – do not act in a way that would reflect poorly on the guild.

While full-members are considered Virakar for the branch they play in, it is important to note that this does not translate into instant membership in any other branch of Virakar. It certainly helps, but as an example: A full member of WoW will have to apply to the SB branch and be accepted in order to play with VA:SB. (Please note: A vouch by a Core/Elder from your branch is usually enough to get you into at least the recruitment phase for another branch. So if Skel vouches for Billy, a WoW player, on the SB boards, there is a pretty good chance that VA:SB will take Billy in for at least a trial membership.)

Full members are also expected to play with Virakar exclusively. A full member discovered to be playing with another guild or faction on the same server will be removed from the guild via officer decision. This decision is usually final, though extenuating circumstances may prevail in rare situations. As a full member, you are Virakar and you play with Virakar during that time.

Full members should endeavor to post regularly on their respective guild private boards, the Virakar general boards and generally any board they have access to that interests them. As a member of the guild in a branch, it is expected of you to get involved with the guild community. While not required, it is highly recommended to do this. As a final note: Virakar full members should refrain from excessive posting on their game’s public forum (ie Sargeras public board, Vindication Political Forums), especially inflammatory posting. As a member of Virakar, you should adopt the policy of “Speak softly, and carry a big stick.” That is, speak seldom, and let your actions in-game speak for themselves. A certain level of immaturity exists on those public forums that Virakar does not wish to be associated with. Don’t fall into the forum trap!

Recruits:

Recruits are trial-members within Virakar in a specific branch, and tagged to the guild for a limited period of time. Recruits must follow recruitment protocols for their particular branch. The recruitment phase lasts for a finite amount of time. At the end of the phase, the officers and/or guild sponsors will decide whether or not to elect the Recruit to member status. Recruits should endeavor to participate in guild events, guild group events, and get to know other guild members as well as members of the Core and Elders. Recruits should not identify themselves on public message boards as members of Virakar through signatures, et cetera. The purpose of the recruitment phase is to weed out weak or inactive members - recruits should endeavor to put in extra effort in advancing the guild in its objectives, helping other members and advancing their character on their own in order to show their dedication to the guild and its principles. Posting on the Virakar general boards, Gaming boards, and branch-specific open boards is welcomed.

Applicants:

Applicants are people who may play with Virakar in a specific branch, not tagged to the guild, but awaiting confirmation of their applicant status to begin their recruitment phase. Applicants should endeavor to gain member sponsors and participate in guild group events. Access to Ventrillo should be limited, and there is no message board access for applicants, but Applicants are expected to post on open Virakar forums.
